    SLOSEA director Dean Wendt and the activities of the California Collaborative Fisheries Research Project were featured in the Winter 2009 issue of Cal Poly Magazine.
  • 2009 May 21:
    The Chorro Creek Water Quality Monitoring Station has been permanently retired due to budget limitations and a need for spare components for the other three stations.
  • 2009 April 30:
    Slide show presentations from the March 26 Advisory Committee Meeting are available on the new downloads page.
  • 2009 April 28:
    Cal Poly has selected Dean Wendt, Director of SLOSEA and Associate Professor of Biological Sciences, to receive the Distinguished Scholarship Award for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The SLOSEA program and affiliated scientists have been featured in stories by KTVU, the San Luis Obispo Tribune and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Bay Area television station KTVU featured a story September 21, 2007 on California's newly created Marine Protection Areas.  Three of these areas are being monitored by Cal Poly and Moss Landing Marine Laboratory in a collaborative study (see below).   View the story on the KTVU web site...
